Off The Grid drops early access via PS5 and Epic Games Store

Shortly following the news of Off The Grid being available to playtest on Xbox Series X, the game has now launched early access via Playstation 5 and on PC via Epic Games Store.

Drawing closer to its full public launch, battle royale thirdperson shooter Off The Grid is the first web3 game to debut on console. In this early iteration, players join squads of three to battle for the last one standing in a 60-player mode called Extraction Royale. This takes place across a single large city map.

Built on developer Gunzilla Games’ own Avalanche-based GUNZ chain, it features web3 assets in the shape of cybernetic limbs and customizable weapons, as well as the underlying GUN token. Although not yet live outside the game, players can earn GUN through gameplay by completing various missions.

In conjunction with releasing early access, Gunzilla has also dropped a new trailer, created by co-founder and film director Neill Blomkamp (District 9). Moreover, the studio recently launched the game’s official soundtrack, which has been composed by Scottish film and game composer Lorne Balfe (Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, Crysis 2, Skylanders, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2).
