MetaGravity launches Quark multiplayer game engine

After 18 months in closed beta, UK multiplayer tech company MetaGravity has launched its multiplayer game engine technology Quark.

Empowering game developers to create massive multiplayer worlds more seamlessly, the engine is said to deliver a ten-fold cost reduction compared to its competitors, as well as improve scalability and efficiency for online games and simulations.

Quark offers use cases beyond gaming too, addressing a market that includes games, metaverse, enterprise digital twins, and defence simulation.

MetaGravity co-founder Rashid Mansoor commented, “The future of digital experiences demands infrastructure that is not only scalable but radically efficient. With Quark Multiplayer, we’re delivering the best multiplayer backend today while laying the foundation for a distributed supercomputing future.”

Quark Multiplayer is currently available in early access, with public availability set to roll out in Q3 2025.

As for MetaGravity, the company announced a partnership with Immutable earlier in 2025, which will see its web3 games Edge of Chaos: Dungeons and Edge of Chaos: Apocalypse launch on the blockchain gaming platform. It also announced a collaboration with web3 cloud compute company Aethir in 2024.
