Metacade launches Gangs of Metacadia on Base
After the integration of Metacade Tournaments on the Coinbase wallet, Metacade has now announced the launch of its first native game, Gangs of Metacadia, on Ethereum L2 Base.
Blending strategic and competitive gameplay with rewards, Gangs of Metacadia is set in a futuristic neon-filled metropolis, where five gangs battle for control of the city.
“Players join a gang by minting their insignia, unlocking core features like influence-building, recruitment, and heist planning. With a dynamic gameplay model that taps into all four of Metacade’s core quarters – play, build, connect, and earn – there’s something for everyone, whether you’re a gamer, investor, or builder,” explained Metacade CEO Russell Bennett.
As for gameplay, Gangs of Metacadia revolves around:
- Recruitment building – this strengthens a gang’s influence across the city. Notably, this will either boost or sabotage your gang’s influence, which is vital for being successful.
- War room – as a gang leader, you can declare wars against rival gangs, with winners gaining the loser’s treasury.
- Heists – by organizing heists, you can steal from rival gangs, increasing both your gang’s treasury and personal rewards.
- Vault – players can upgrade their vault to protect a gang’s stash from rivals.
- Shop – this offers gear which enhances a gang’s performance.
The launch follows the release of Metacade Tournaments, which are available on mobile and desktop, including Telegram. In addition to offering more platforms, this launch has also seen over 10 new games join the Metacade game library, including Atlantic Sky Hunter, Bird Bump, Bubble Invasion, Fruit Frenzy, Karate Chop Kick, Leave Me Alone, Mountain Hop, Pet Hop, Spore Hunter, and Wordle.
