Ubisoft’s Captain Laserhawk The G.A.M.E. goes live to NFT holders

Following its launch of Champions Tactics earlier in 2024, Ubisoft is closing out 2024 by releasing Captain Laserhawk The G.A.M.E..

From Wednesday 18th December, it will be available to holders of Niji Warrior IDs.

Expanding its Netflix series Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix, the game is a multiplayer topdown shooter. A notable feature from Ubisoft is the game’s community-involving governance, allowing users to influence the narrative.

In this, the company is leveraging Aleph.im’s decentralized cross-chain technology to offer dynamic NFTs that evolve with player engagement. Ahead of the launch, Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E. dropped the Niji Warrior IDs, a free 10,000-strong NFT collection on Arbitrum.

In line with players advancing, these Niji Warrior IDs will evolve to showcase achievements and unlock customization options, governance rights, and other benefits. This latest integration is a continuation of a deeper collaboration, with Ubisoft also using Aleph.im’s tech in Champions Tactics Grimoria Chronicles.

Deploying on the Arbitrum L2 blockchain, Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E. will also integrate Sequence’s wallet solution to provide frictionless onboarding.

Ubisoft executive producer and technical director Didier Genevois commented, “Aleph.im has been an invaluable partner, allowing us to seamlessly manage dynamic NFT metadata while maintaining transparency and decentralization.”

Aleph.im CEO Jonathan Schemoul added, “By integrating dynamic NFT capabilities and Aleph’s serverless architecture, Ubisoft is redefining player interaction and ownership in the gaming industry at large.”
