Wemix partners with esports team DRX
Recently celebrating its 25th anniversary, South Korean game company Wemade has minted a new company slogan for 2025 – ‘We dare’.
As part of this, its web3 arm Wemix is also levelling up its new strategic focus which was stated in 2024, notably by focusing on the combined integration of gaming, blockchain, and AI. A key pillar in this vision is Wemix’s blockchain-based social platform Wepublic, which aims to bridge web2 and web3 by integrating community engagement and fandom with decentralized economies.
To this end, in a recent move the company onboarded one of the leading South Korean esports teams DRX to Wepublic, resulting in the launch of DRX’s official fan community on the platform. Founded in 2012, DRX currently operates multiple teams in games such as League of Legends, Valorant, and more.
Allowing fans to connect with DRX players and participate in exclusive membership events, the DRX fan community was set up using Wepublic’s DAO features. Starting with DRX, Wemix hopes to expand Wepublic into other fandom industries too.
Another focus for Wemix in 2025 is continuing to drive web3 adoption by improving its blockchain technology in terms of wallet solutions, foreign user authentication, and community communications.
