Double Jump unveils new Oasys L2 and SGC token ahead of Sangokushi Taisen launch

Adding to the number of L2s on its own gaming blockchain Oasys, Double Jump Tokyo has announced the development of L2 chain SG Verse.

Built in partnership with web3 protocol AltLayer, the chain will support Double Jump’s forthcoming Sega-licensed TCG Kai Sangokushi Taisen – Battle of Three Kingdoms. 

Previously only called Battle of Three Kingdoms, the game is undergoing a rebrand initiated by the creator of the original Sangokushi Taisen series at Sega, Yasuhiro Nishiyama. A new logo and key visuals are also expected to be released ahead of the PC/mobile launch.

In addition, Double Jump has unveiled plans to launch a new ecosystem token, SG Coin, which will underpin both SG Verse and Kai Sangokushi Taisen – Battle of Three Kingdoms. Initially to be used for in-game purchases, later it will also be applicable for other game features.

In terms of AltLayer’s involvement, its open decentralized protocol is used to accelerate the launch of rollups with optimistic and ZK rollup stacks. Double Jump is its exclusive official partner in Japan.
