Consensys Linea Decentralization Through New Swiss Association
Consensys Linea Decentralization advances with the new Swiss-based Linea Association, promoting governance, growth, and a roadmap to community-driven control.
Linea Association Pushes Forward Consensys Linea Decentralization
The newly formed Linea Association is a Swiss non-profit that will be responsible for driving the decentralization of Consensys' Linea network. By advancing community-led governance, this association supports Linea's path to a fully decentralized, open-access Ethereum Layer-2 solution. It is also in keeping with the vision of Consensys founder Joseph Lubin, who has maintained that the Association will ensure that Linea is independent of any centralized entity.
New Swiss Nonprofit to Guide Consensys Linea’s Decentralization Path
This is a serious development for Consensys' Layer-2 solution, as the Linea Association will support the decentralization of the Linea blockchain. The Association will formally launch at Devcon, Bangkok, to be responsible for guiding development, creating an open-source ecosystem, and probably growing the network's market share as it goes toward decentralized governance. According to the Product Lead of Linea, the "Association will support technological development and provide community-centric governance.".
Among the big activities of the Association is the release of the Linea Governance Token in 2025. This token will provide the community with voting rights over some proposals, hence the ability to decide on the future of the network through informed decisions. The central objective of the Linea Association is that control of the protocol should eventually become highly decentralized so that all the principles of transparency and openness from the Ethereum community are served and help secure Linea as a public and permissionless good.
