Pixels’ PIXEL token expands to Forgotten Runiverse

Pixels and Bisonic have announced a partnership which will see the expansion of Pixels’ PIXEL token as it integrates into Forgotten Runiverse.

Both games are currently running on Ronin, following Forgotten Runiverse’s migration from Arbitrum in 2024, and Pixel’s migration from Polygon in 2023.

A pixel art MMORPG, Forgotten Runiverse recently launched into global early access. Meanwhile, Pixels has been live since 2023. With this collaboration, the teams are looking to realize their shared vision of web3-enabled interoperable economies, in particular by expanding the utility of PIXEL. 

Although Pixels has already deployed PIXEL across two games, including its flagship social RPG Pixels and Pixel Dungeons, Forgotten Runiverse is the first third-party title to adopt the token. This will enable its players to use in-game currency Quanta in exchange for PIXEL rewards. They will also be able to spend PIXEL to get Mana, Boosts, and various event items. 

A significant milestone for both developers, to mark the collaboration special in-game quests are set to drop and an exclusive Forgotten Runiverse avatar will be available in Pixels ahead of the integration.

Additionally, the partnership offers both developers a wider range of data which will help in optimizing for player engagement and play-to-earn strategies.
