LINE Next launches first mini games via LINE Messenger

Powered by Kaia blockchain, Line’s web3 venture LINE Next has launched its web3 mini-game integration called Mini Dapps, on LINE Messenger.

Available globally, Mini Dapps can be accessed directly within the platform or via the Dapp Portal’s official accounts, without any need to download an external app.

32 games and other apps have gone live at launch, including Bombie and CatteaCaptain Tsubasa -RIVALS- on LINE, and health app Superz, which all let users earn rewards for playing and engaging in some form. Through the integrated in-app wallet, users can also trade digital assets such as NFTs.

Further down the line, LINE Next is also looking to add the Dapp Portal segment to the platform’s home tab while launching a web version of Dapp Portal. This would then be accessible without installing the LINE Messenger mobile app.

LINE Next CEO Youngsu Ko is hopeful Mini Dapps will help drive web3 user adoption in Asia.

“A true popularization of web3 services depends on their accessibility and usability,” he said, adding, “Mini Dapps based on LINE Messenger will become the first large-scale web3 user adoption case in Asia.”

The development of Mini Dapps is highly credited to the Kaia Wave program, a joint developer program operated by Line Next and and Kaia DLT Foundation. Another factor is Line Next’s SDK.

“We are excited to provide a seamless web3 experience through Mini Dapps and Dapp Portal,” commented Kaia DLT Foundation chairman Dr. Sam Seo.

“Kaia will continue to provide highly reliable and scalable blockchain solutions for LINE NEXT and our Web3 partners.”
