Move-to-Earn app StepMania launches via Telegram

Hoping to encourage healthy habits by bridging real-world activities with digital rewards, activity-tracking app StepMania has launched via Telegram.

Following the likes of move-to-earn apps STEPN and Walken, StepMania lets users earn blockchain-based in-game rewards based on activities such as walking and running. Turning steps into coins, which determines users placement on leaderboards, the app also features squad challenges, and other ways to earn rewards. It keeps track of users’ activity by integrating with Apple Health and Google Health Connect, which means anyone with a smartphone can use the app.

By launching via Telegram, it focuses on being easily accessible to anyone. To that end, unlike some other move-to-earn games, it’s not NFT gated. Leveraging Telegram’s social features, it also lets users compete with friends and share their achievements, without needing to download additional apps.

Deployed on TON, StepMania is backed by The Open Platform (TOP), currently the largest investor into the TON ecosystem with games such as Notcoin and Flappy Bird in its portfolio.

Following its launch, StepMania will expand through collaborations with various TON-based projects as well as explore partnerships with other brands, events, and wearable companies.
