Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, known for his two Super Bowl championships and MVP awards in his six NFL seasons, made a significant impact with NFTs in 2021. Now, he is diving back into the NFT world with his own platform, the 'Museum of Mahomes,' expanding upon his previous venture.
Scheduled to debut in September, the 'Museum of Mahomes' will offer digital collectibles as NFTs, some of which will be linked to real-world benefits like game-worn items, physical trading cards, autographed jerseys, balls, and more.
The 'Museum of Mahomes II' collection will consist of 15,000 NFTs, featuring artwork inspired by his entire NFL career to date. The network for minting the NFTs and their pricing is yet to be disclosed.
Back in March 2021, Mahomes launched his first NFTs, earning $3.7 million in sales as the NFT space gained momentum. Owners of those original NFTs will be able to claim physical versions of their collectibles, personally signed by the MVP himself.
Unlike his previous venture on MakersPlace, this new initiative sees Mahomes establishing his dedicated platform. The digital agency D-O-M, which was involved in the first launch, is leading the project.
A portion of the NFT sales revenue will benefit Mahomes' '15 and the Mahomies' Foundation, supporting children in disadvantaged communities through various initiatives.
"I'm excited to offer physical replicas to Museum of Mahomes I collection holders and do some good in the world with the '15 and the Mahomies' Foundation as part of the 'Museum of Mahomes II' launch," said Mahomes in a statement.
While pursuing his own NFT endeavors, Mahomes has also been the face of NFL All Day by Dapper Labs, serving as the official spokesperson when the digital collectibles platform opened to the public in August last year.
