Nyan Heroes unveils $200,000 NYAN token airdrop for playtest #4

In conjunction with its fourth playtest, cat-themed hero shooter Nyan Heroes has unveiled Airdrop 4, its largest airdrop yet.

With a total prize pool of 6.7 million NYAN tokens, including 250,000 for the top player, the rewards have been increased by 34% compared to the previous Airdrop 3.

The game launched its NYAN token in May 2024, which then peaked at a value of $0.46. It’s since dropped by 93.7% to $0.03.

Nyan Heroes’ director of economy Asimakis Reppas (ex-CCP Games) has designed Airdrop 4’s reward structure, which introduces a tier-based system. The three tiers include 

• Challenger Tier (55%) – contains 3.7 million tokens and requires a minimum of 50+ games played and a top 5k rank.
• Leaderboard Tier (30%) – requires a minimum of 25 wins and a top 3k rank. 
• Genesis NFT Tier (15%) – requires a minimum of 20k in-game Meow Points.

As for points, they can be earned by completing in-game missions and challenges, as well as by connecting accounts and through social missions. For instance, players can earn points through the referral program when their friends play. One referral can provide 50 Meow Points.

Running from 26th March to April 13th, Airdrop 4 takes place during Nyan Heroes Playtest 4, which also introduces three new gameplay elements:

New hero – Coco is a pilot who has built his Guardian Gizmo from scraps. Gizmo brings new abilities to the Battledome, including deploying turrets, creating a magnetic, elevating platform, and unleashing his ultimate Scrap Goliath, through which he becomes a giant version of himself which throws out exploding metal pieces that hurt enemies and add armor to allies.

New game mode – Fishball is a team-based competitive mode with matches played over two rounds. Teams battle to score points by carrying or throwing a ball into the opponents’ goal, with the reservation that ball-carriers can shoot but not use their ultimate ability. 

New map – Tokyo is a digital recreation of the city in the Nyan Hero Battledome, which was one of the last bastions of defense against the feral robot uprising. It emphasizes vertical movement and precise coordination in tight spaces.
